As a freelance animator with Hiker Studio, I collaborated on a dynamic video project that required a high level of creative exploration and visual rhythm. Moving beyond standard motion graphics, my involvement spanned multiple critical phases of production—from mapping out the initial visual narrative in pre-production to executing expressive, hand-drawn 2D frame animation.
-
The creative brief called for a piece driven by seamless transformations rather than traditional, hard editorial cuts. The challenge lay in mapping out a narrative that could organically shift from one concept, environment, or character to the next without losing momentum. This required strict compositional planning during the design phase and precise execution during frame-by-frame animation.
-
Storyboarding & Narrative Flow: Assisted in developing the structural blueprint of the piece. I designed storyboards that prioritized spatial awareness and continuous motion, plotting exactly how the composition of one scene would lay the groundwork for the next.
Fluid 2D Frame Animation: Executed hand-drawn frame-by-frame animation, focusing heavily on timing, spacing, and natural momentum to give the visuals an organic weight.
Morphing Technique Exploration: Explored complex morphing sequences where elements fluidly reshaped into entirely new assets. I utilized custom smear frames and liquid-like transitions to create a mesmerizing, seamless flow that kept the viewer's eye locked onto the screen.

The final animation delivered a highly engaging, continuous visual experience that blended traditional 2D techniques with modern digital storytelling. By pairing strong storyboard planning with experimental morphing animation, the project achieved a fluid, rhythmic cadence that effortlessly held the viewer’s attention from start to finish.
