The Pet Series was developed as a comprehensive, highly engaging roadmap for prospective owners looking to evaluate their lifestyle before taking on a new animal companion. Covering a vast spectrum of creatures—from a massive Saint Bernard to a Madagascar Hissing Cockroach—the series offers a lighthearted, honest, and practical look at what it truly takes to commit to a pet. I designed the overarching format architecture and the complete motion graphics template for the show.

The core production directive was high efficiency: the team needed to output a large volume of episodic content within a highly condensed timeline. While relying heavily on cost-effective stock imagery was a operational necessity, the creative challenge was avoiding a generic, sterile "stock slideshow" look. The visual format needed to feel completely bespoke, premium, and natively digital.

The Digital Collage
To elevate standard text-on-image videos into a distinct brand style, I developed an experimental cut-out and layered collage composition.
Hand-Crafted Aesthetic: Instead of standard digital frames, I structured a template where stock photos are masked with clean, white sticker-like borders, mimicking a physical scrapbook or magazine clipping cutout.
Dynamic Spatial Layering: By separating subjects from their original backgrounds, I stacked assets over stylized vector landscapes and flat color fields. This allowed elements—like a Saint Bernard sitting in front of a layered mountain range—to interact playfully with text indicators, custom tracking lines, and secondary pop-ups.
Rapid Editorial Workflows: This structural choice allowed the editing team to drop raw stock assets into predetermined masking fields, instantly converting flat imagery into a textured, multi-dimensional graphic space.
Graphics Package Deliverables
Kinetic Text-on-Image Layouts: Designed high-contrast typographic treatments for quick on-screen legibility, essential for capturing split-second attention in fast-paced video environments.
Logistical Data Overlays: Created minimal, clean statistical callouts to convey critical pet details at a glance, such as weight ranges, height at the shoulder, and average life expectancy.
Playful Callout Systems: Engineered integrated point-and-arrow graphical notes (e.g., separating facts from myths, like the iconic brandy cask associated with Alpine rescue dogs) to keep the tone informative yet humorous.
Scalable Layout Taxonomy: Built a comprehensive master template system that allows the visual language to shift smoothly whether the episode is tracking a traditional domestic dog or an exotic insect.

The Pet Series format successfully decoupled high-volume production demands from generic visual outputs. By transforming standard asset constraints into an intentional, stylized paper-collage aesthetic, the final graphics package delivered a highly distinct, repeatable, and entertaining framework that seamlessly guides viewers through the realities of pet commitment.
