"Unlocking Big Data" Season 2 – Graphics Package & Branding
Role: Motion Graphics Designer
Project: Unlocking Big Data (Season 2)

Year: 2024

For Season 2 of Unlocking Big Data—a collaborative thought-leadership series produced by healthcare data platform Arcadia and HIMSS—I was brought on to design and execute a comprehensive on-screen motion graphics package. Utilizing a pre-existing animated corporate logo as my creative foundation, I developed a unified broadcast identity for the series, encompassing the main title sequence, co-branded sponsor cards, and lower thirds.
-
The objective was to take an existing, highly stylized geometric logo and scale its design language into a functional, multi-asset broadcast package. The graphics needed to communicate complex tech concepts—like analytics, healthcare networks, and data infrastructure—in a clean, professional, and visually engaging manner suitable for an authoritative industry publication.
-
Title Sequence & Brand Extension: Deconstructed the core elements of Arcadia's geometric animation style to build a high-energy series intro. I integrated abstract data motifs—including stylized charts, network nodes, a DNA helix, and a heart—culminating in a bold, rhythmic reveal of the "Unlocking Big Data" title card.
Lower Thirds Design: Engineered clean, minimalist lower-third templates to introduce prominent industry speakers. I utilized sharp, color-blocked accent boxes (matching the brand's signature purple, teal, and orange palette) to ensure speaker names and titles were highly legible without distracting from the presentation.
Co-Branded Continuity: Crafted smooth transitional elements to clearly present the organizational partnership ("Sponsored by Arcadia / Presented by HIMSS"), ensuring both brand identities shared equal visual weight and professional polish.
-
The final graphics package successfully elevated the production value of Unlocking Big Data Season 2, establishing a cohesive visual thread from the opening frame to the individual speaker segments. The system provided the editing team with a seamless, repeatable framework that reinforced the series' premium branding across every episode.
