I designed and animated a promotional explainer video for Otus, an K-12 Learning Management System (LMS) platform. The campaign focuses on showcasing their "Progress Monitoring Plans" feature. To make a data-heavy software tool feel accessible and engaging, the project adopted a nostalgic, high-energy Schoolhouse Rock! aesthetic—utilizing a catchy musical narrative, whimsical character designs, and fluid hand-drawn transitions.

Software features like progress tracking, data dashboards, and educational monitoring can easily feel dry or overly technical to school administrators and teachers. The objective was to humanize the data. I needed to build an emotionally resonant story demonstrating that behind every data point is a real student who deserves an individualized path to academic, social-emotional, or extracurricular success.

Nostalgic Character & Environment Design: Crafted a diverse, expressive lineup of 2D characters with a classic hand-drawn texture. Each student represented a different educational journey—from a student struggling with reading, to a math prodigy, to a young artist exploring her talents and an athlete staying eligible for sports.
Seamless Software UI Integration: Rather than displaying generic screen recordings, I integrated a highly stylized version of the Otus platform directly into the animation. I visually animated how an educator interacts with a student's dashboard (e.g., Molly Monroe's 6th Grade Reading Plan), tracking milestones through clean, color-coded line graphs shifting from "At Risk" to "Complete."
Kinetic Typography & Rhythmic Pacing: Structured the visual timing around the upbeat music track, utilizing lively kinetic text layout to emphasize key messaging ("You deserve a plan," "They deserve a plan").
Brand Pillar Visualization: Designed a fluid, rotating wheel graphic to neatly summarize the full utility of the Otus platform ecosystem: Teach, Grade, Analyze, and Plan.

The final video delivered an incredibly engaging and memorable piece of B2B product marketing. By wrapping a robust software feature in the familiar comfort of classic educational television, the project successfully demystified the platform's features, capturing the hearts of educators and effectively driving awareness for the Otus LMS platform.
